Joy of giving week was made nice and worthy in the hands of BSMED and Yi. We started our event from 27th September to October 3rd, 2009. We conducted two events on behalf of BSMEDYi.

Name of the event: KULANDAIYIN SIRIPPIL
Description:
On the above mentioned date, we went to the “doughlus siruvar illam” at vattamalaipalayam, Coimbatore (on the way to metthupalayam near thudiyalur). We spent that whole day with those cute and innocent children. There are totally 60 children in that orphanage. Most of the children there were very less aged. We provided them with a nice breakfast, then we started them with a series of events like providing basic knowledge about the computer, we have taken a computer along with the cpu from our school for their easy understanding. All the children keenly listened about the information shared by us. Then we showed them “the tale of thenali raman” and our nets given the moral at the end of the story. We also told them, How we to be and How we not to be. After the delicious lunch, we continued to entertain those children by “A MAGIC SHOW” played by one of our net. The children felt so happy on this on goings. We continued the day by providing them proper health tips which includes proper hygiene, deficiency and their rectifications, major and minor accidents and the procedure for first aid, these all information’s were received from the KMCH doctor for giving the children, a clear explanations. We continued to show them the story tales through lcd for providing them moral things. We finally made a documentary of photos which we have taken from the morning and shoed them. All the children felt so happy to see their photos. We seen the happiness of the children is more wonderful than anything in this world. At the end of the day, we had informal and cute interaction with the children, half heartedly without any go, we returned from that place filled with the angels. We closed the day at evening six.

AIM:
To see a vehicle free university, a greenish university without any pollution, health awareness by walking a day inside throughout the university.
Description:
On the above mentioned date, we conducted “vehicleless day” inside the premises of the university. We got the permission from the Registrar and the vice chancellor of our university before two days. We also conveyed the public relation officer regarding the event. We went to each and every department of the university for making them involve in this joy of giving week. We also interacted with our student friends of our university regarding this event. A day before the event, we went to all the hostels of the university and requested them not to move on their vehicles inside the university. We also made necessary arrangement for parking the vehicles outside the university. Every now and then we interacted with the securities of our university regarding this event. We tried to give the joy of giving the environment to the university; ultimately it’s a grand success. We started our function by morning 8.30 am. We made all the university coming vehicles to park outside the university. Also, the staff members and the student friends equally co-operated in doing the same. There are numerous vehicles made to park at the peak time of 9.30 am to 10 am. The university buses also made to park outside the university. After the working of the university started, we found that there are nearly 600 two wheelers and 100 four wheelers which were parked outside the university. We continued the same throughout the day. It was so pleasant to see a silent and greenish university throughout the day. At the evening, its given us immense pleasure to see all our university members walking towards the gate. We thanked all of them with the chocolates for their co-operation. Many were appreciated this work and told that it’s a great thing to see the university with this colour. We closed the day by evening six. These activities were telecasted in sun news, dtv and utv.
We also thought that the joy of giving is nevertheless of the days and will be doing the same in the future days.

Description:
Dream Coimbatore is a Coimbatore level competition which is held for the school and college students in Coimbatore with drawing, photography and essay competitions. It is organized by CII and Yi. On the above mentioned date, drawing competition for all the school students in the Coimbatore was conducted. The volunteers for this function are the young Indians exclusively from BSMED. The competition was held at three centers in Coimbatore

Our BSMEDIANS grouped themselves and went for each and every center as volunteers. They cooperated with the CII from morning till evening by supervising this on goings and made this function a grand success. CII members and Yi coordinators felt so happy for our wholehearted cooperation.
